BANKING & CREDITS
Everything to do with money and personal storage in QuantumRift runs through two related — but separate — systems, both reached through the same NPC:
- Imperial Credits — your wallet balance, the currency of the game.
- Bank Vault — a personal item storage grid. It doesn’t hold credits at all; it holds actual items.
Both live behind the Banker NPC, so it’s easiest to learn them together.
Finding the Banker
The Banker (skin: imperial_banker) is a City NPC stationed inside the Imperial City, alongside the Flea Auctioneer, Imperial Merchant, and the other City-tier NPCs. Banking through the Banker’s menu is a walk-up-to-the-NPC activity — you need to be in the City to open it.
That said, a few core money commands work from anywhere in the world:
/balance/pay <player> <amount>
You don’t need to find the Banker just to check your balance or send someone credits.
Imperial Credits
How credits are tracked
Every credit amount is stored to three decimal places (e.g. 1234.567, 100.000, 0.050), so the smallest amount you can ever hold or move is 0.001 credits. Rounding uses a “round half to even” rule at every calculation step, which means fees, splits, and percentage cuts round evenly over time instead of consistently favoring the house (or you) — no slow drift in either direction.
You’ll see credits displayed two ways:
| Context | Format | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet / vault balances | Full precision | 1234.567 cr |
| Shop listings | Trimmed | 100.000 → 100, 1.500 → 1.5, 0.050 → 0.05 |
Credits are not the same as Tokens (the premium currency) — Tokens are whole numbers, credits are always the 3-decimal currency. They share a transaction history, but are otherwise completely separate systems.
Starting out
- New players begin with 20 credits.
- There’s no cap on how many credits you can hold.
- There’s a very high per-transaction safety ceiling that exists purely to prevent overflow errors — no normal player will ever come close to it.
Sending credits directly: /pay
/pay <player> <amount> sends credits straight from your wallet to another player’s. On success you’ll see:
“Sent X cr to
<player>. New balance: Y cr.”
There’s a 5-second cooldown between payments to prevent spam. Other reasons a payment might be refused:
- Insufficient funds
- Would exceed the recipient’s max balance
- Amount must be positive
- Exceeds the per-transaction cap
- Can’t pay yourself
- Cooldown still active
- Unknown player
- Wallet/bank temporarily unavailable
Checking your balance and history
/balance— your own wallet balance./balance <player>— someone else’s balance (permission-gated)./balance history [page]— your own transaction history, 10 entries per page, newest first, colored green for money in and red for money out, each tagged with its reason.
The Banker’s menu
Talking to the Banker opens a menu with five tabs: Personal, Team, History, Exchange, Vault.
Personal
A read-only view of your own wallet balance — “Your Imperial Credits wallet.” From here, a “Transfer to Team →” button opens an amount picker to move credits from your personal wallet into your team’s treasury.
Team
A read-only view of your team’s treasury balance, held inside your team’s Base Core.
- Officer rank or higher get a “← Withdraw to Personal” button to pull treasury credits back into their own wallet.
- Below Officer, you’ll see: “Officer+ only — Promote first or ask a teammate.”
- No team? You’ll see: “No team — Place a Base Core to found one.”
History
Your last 20 transactions, each with an icon matching its reason, an amount, +/- coloring, and a timestamp. Icons include a paper for player-to-player payments, an emerald for team deposits, a gold ingot for team withdrawals, TNT for siege purchases, a shield for shield activation, and a nether star for mission rewards, among others.
Exchange
Converts credits into Tokens — one-way only; tokens never convert back into credits. The tab shows the live exchange rate (“<price> credits = 1 Token”), which refreshes periodically, plus preset purchase buttons for 1 / 2 / 5 / 10 / 20 / 50 / 100 / 500 / 1000 Tokens, each showing its credit cost at the current rate. Buttons outside the allowed purchase range are grayed out. There’s also a shortcut pointing you to the full /tokens menu for more options.
Vault
Your personal item storage — covered in full below.
Transferring between your wallet and your team’s treasury
Whether you open the amount picker from the Banker’s Personal/Team tabs or use commands directly, the mechanics are the same.
Via the Banker menu: the amount picker offers preset buttons for 100 / 500 / 1,000 / 5,000 / 10,000 credits, plus an “All” button that transfers your entire available balance. On success you’ll see “Transferred X cr.” and the Banker menu reopens with your refreshed balances. Every transfer is all-or-nothing — it either fully completes or fails outright, so you never lose a partial amount.
Via **/team**:
/team deposit <amount>— personal wallet → team treasury./team withdraw <amount>— team treasury → personal wallet (subject to the same rank gating as the menu button)./team set withdraw-tier— team-leader-only setting that controls which team rank is allowed to withdraw from the shared treasury.
The team treasury itself lives on your team’s Base Core structure — it isn’t a separate “team bank.” You can also view and manage it from the Base Core’s own GUI, on its Bank tab.
The Bank Vault (personal item storage)
The Vault is a personal item storage space — not shared with your team — that holds real items with their NBT, durability, and enchantments fully preserved. You can reach it from the Banker’s Vault tab, or through a dedicated “Bank Vault” screen if you’re using the game’s cursor-based interface. Both routes read and write the same storage, so nothing is lost if you switch between them.
Capacity by rank
Your vault’s slot count scales with your rank. Slots are always a multiple of 9 — one extra chest row per rank tier:
| Rank | Slots |
|---|---|
| Citizen (free — everyone starts here) | 9 |
| Hero | 18 |
| Mercenary | 27 |
| Aurora | 36 |
| Legend | 45 |
| Imperial | 54 |
54 slots is the absolute maximum — equivalent to two full double chests. If you happen to hold more than one rank’s permissions at once, your highest available slot count is the one that applies.
In the classic chest-style menu, the vault is shown as two 27-slot pages (Page 1 / Page 2) with a counter showing how many slots on each page are unlocked. In the cursor-interface version, it’s presented as a single scrollable inventory sized to match your rank tier. Either way, it’s the same storage underneath.
Depositing and withdrawing
- Deposit an item by placing it into any unlocked vault slot — drag-and-drop, click-to-place, and right-click-to-place-one all work normally.
- Withdraw an item with a normal click, or shift-click to send it directly to your own inventory.
- If a save ever fails, the game retries automatically; if it still can’t complete, your item is returned to your own inventory (never silently destroyed) along with an on-screen warning, or in the rare worst case, logged so staff can manually restore it. Items are never quietly deleted or duplicated.
If your rank drops
If your rank tier decreases — say, a rank expires — and your vault holds more items than your new cap allows:
- Items already sitting in now-over-cap slots stay put and remain fully withdrawable. You can always take your stuff back out.
- You just can’t place new items into an over-cap slot until you’re back under your cap.
- Empty over-cap slots show a locked gray pane: “Locked — Rank up to unlock this slot.”
This lets you retrieve overflow items after a rank downgrade without losing anything, while making sure you’re not using capacity you’re no longer paying for.
At the Imperial rank (54 slots, the max), the vault shows a friendly “Max rank reached — You have the maximum 54 slots” message. Below max rank, it shows “Rank up to expand — Higher ranks unlock more bank slots.”
Does the Vault ever get wiped?
Not automatically. Unlike credits, which are tied to seasons, the Bank Vault currently has no automatic season reset — your items persist across seasons unless a server admin manually clears your data. There’s also no in-game admin panel specific to the vault; it’s purely a player-facing feature.
Rank ladder reference
The rank ladder referenced throughout this page, from free to top tier:
Citizen (free) → Hero → Mercenary → Aurora → Legend → Imperial
Citizen is the default starting tier everyone begins at — no purchase required. The paid ranks above it are obtained through purchasable rank eggs, each of which grants a bundle of perks, including the Bank Vault slot increases described above.
